End of Summer BBQ

Thanks for coming out! We had a break in the rain just long enough to cook burgers and hotdogs, enjoy the potluck and say goodbye to the horses. Thanks to everyone who has supported us all summer – riders, therapists, volunteers, staff and care-givers. We make a great team!

Our horses need shoes! UPDATE

Thanks to our generous donors!

We asked for $670 to cover the cost of farrier service for July, and had an overwhelming response! Donors contributed $820, which allowed for shoeing three more of the horses than we planned. Thanks so much!

Our farrier, Tyler, takes great care of the herd’s feet and visits them every six weeks, so this is an on-going expense. We are always grateful for donations to help keep our horses healthy.

So far this summer, our therapy horses have carried riders for over 300 miles of trail. That’s a lot of wear and tear on their hooves, and now it’s time for their regular farrier visit. Hoof care is a critical part of keeping our horses healthy so they can continue their important service to our therapy riders.

It costs $170 per horse for hoof trimming and new shoes for Seven, Sweetie and Penny.

A donation of $40 per horse will provide a trim for our “barefoot” horses, Casper, Hank, Rocky, and Blondie.

Can you help? Any amount to offset these costs will be appreciated, and all donations are tax deductible. Donations can be made here or through our facebook page fundraiser.

Healthy feet = Happy Horses = Happy Riders!

Thanks for your support!

EATA Welcomes Summer Intern

Meet Haley Ross!

Joining the EATA team this summer is intern Haley Ross from Greenville, South Carolina. Haley will graduate from Furman University in 2022, with a B.S. in Health Sciences. She is an experienced equestrian who is supporting our riding sessions while exploring her own interest in physical and occupational therapy. Haley brings lots of positive energy and enthusiasm as well as a great work ethic to our program. We are so happy to have her!
